When we see a tennis ball, we remember Eddie at Hodge Ave 4th of July picnics throwing a frozen one onto the pavement, shattered to prove a point of physics. Long live his memory as a teacher and Hodge Ave. Neighborhood member.
I was saddened to learn of my cousin, Ed's death. I called him "Eddie" and enjoyed his calls to me to catch up on the Dixon's. He will be sorely missed. I send my condolences to all my Dixon cousins, extended families and all who loved Eddie!
I worked as an academic advisor with Ed for several years at Iowa State. I always found him to be a kind and thoughtful person, who worked quietly but diligently on behalf of his students. My sympathy to Ed's loved ones. You can be proud of his commitment to education and building a better world for all. Ellen Holm
