Donna Kathleen (Peterson) Fuller, age 88, lived life to the fullest until her passing on May 8, 2015, with her daughters by her side.

Donna was born on Aug. 4, 1926, in Fort Dodge, IA, to Don and Agnes (Wilson) Peterson. She was the middle child and was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Peterson in 2010. She is survived by her younger sister, Patricia (and Neill) Thompson of Ames, IA, and her sister-in-law, Mickey Peterson of Corvallis, OR.

Always the athlete and tomboy, Donna graduated from Fort Dodge High School, and went on to Milwaukee Downs, transferring to Iowa State University, where she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Fuller. They were married in 1950, raised three daughters, and celebrated 58 years together before Bill's death in 2008. Donna worked at the family business, Don Peterson Studio, as a young woman and she and Bill took over operation of the business in 1951. They sold the studio in 1986, and soon after moved from Fort Dodge to residences at Lake Okoboji and Naples, Florida. Donna moved to Ames in 2010 to be closer to her daughter and her sister. She continued to spend summers at Lake Okoboji, as had her mother before her. She shared her lake home with family and friends each summer.

Not many people could beat Donna on the tennis court or golf course, but everyone had fun trying. Donna had many travel adventures with her daughters over the years, including courtside at Wimbledon, the French Open and US Open, sailing in New Zealand, and an African Safari. When she wasn't traveling, she could be found tending her gardens, cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones, or playing MahJong with friends. She made a difference in the lives of many, by her desire to help others. She was quick with a smile and always interested. She attended St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Ames and First Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake.

Donna is survived by her daughters Krista Fuller (Seattle, WA), Jennie Pantano (Auckland, New Zealand), and Kim (and Tom) Supercynski (Nevada, IA); grandchildren Abbey and AJ Pantano, and Nic and Amanda Supercynski; and numerous nieces and nephews, all fondly called "pal".

Please join the family to Celebrate Donna's life at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Ames, where the family will great friends one hour before the celebration. Donna will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at Lakeview Gardens Cemetery in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

We live across the street from Donna at the Beaches condos.
I learned from my cousin Pat in Ft Dodge about what a wonderful lady she was. When I first met her I could see how true that was.
We had a mutual interest in our dogs. I would see her at Keanu Park where we walked our dogs.
We so enjoyed her beautiful flowers.
I never got to golf with her and am sorry about that, although I am sure she could beat me.
You all should be proud of a
how she enjoyed meeting new friends.
She is missed already .
Sincerely, Doc And Shay Maris

CandleDonna was such a wonderful presence at Lake Okoboji when I was a young girl hanging out with her daughter, Jennie. Even in the last few years I enjoyed taking Donna on a boat ride, watching the sailboat races and visiting with her. She was kind, and ALWAYS interested in my family. She will be missed.
My prayers for comfort and strength go out to Krista, Jennie and Kim and their families.

CandleDonna was the Mom next door when I was a child enjoying summers at the lake. I always felt welcome in their 'cottage' where I played with daughter Jennie. I'll miss my annual summer conversation with Donna very much. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time. With fond memories, Lynn

CandleWe got to know Donna on her visits to Seattle as well as on safari in Tanzanzia. We will always remember her cheerfulness, her high-spirited interest in Iowa State sports, her adventurous spirit, and love of her family. We will miss seeing her smiling face and her loving spirit.
